People’s Republic of Stokes Croft

March 3rd, 2008

We all know Stokes Croft; millions of people travel along its historic streets every year as it provides the main route from the city centre to North Bristol, but why is the area so run down? 22% of the ground floor properties are derelict for god’s sake! It seems Bristol has forgotten about Stokes Croft.

Well, not all of Bristol. Far from forgetting/ignoring the area, local artist Chris Chalkley has made it his mission to turn Stokes Croft into the world’s largest outdoor art gallery. STOP BRISTOL AIRPORT EXPANSION

I’m sure by now everyone’s heard about the planned Bristol Airport expansion. So which one are you? Virtuous greenie or Satan-loving expansionist? Or maybe, you know, completely against it in principle but wouldn’t it be kind of handy to be in Barcelona in 3 hours flat,
without popping by Stansted?

Climb Kili for Kids, 2007

April 18th, 2007

In July Nicole Penfold will be climbing Kilimanjaro in Tanzania to raise money for the childrens charity COCO. In order to take part in the climb she needs to raise a minimum of £2000, so that her costs are covered and so that COCO can gaurentee a reasonable amount of money from the event. She would really appreciate any donations, big or small, as every little helps!
