Jump For Richie: a 24 Hour Bounce-A-Thon

Saturday 7th February 2009 @ Cabot Circus

At 8pm this Saturday, The Richie Trust will be kicking off a 24hr marathon trampoline jumping event raising money for Bristol’s Children’s Hospice. Taking place at the new Cabot Circus shopping centre, the event marks the 2nd anniversary of a very special man, Richie Greathead, who died aged just 31 on 5th February 2007.

Throughout the 24 hours, the jumping team will entertain shoppers with fantastic superhero costumes – everything from Wonderwoman to Spiderman!

The Richie Trust was set up to create extraordinary projects that make a real difference to local communities whilst honouring Richie’s memory. Richie’s girlfriend, Katherine Sparkes explains: “Richie was charismatic and charming - always full of energy. He is dearly missed but his passion for life continues to inspire me and those around him. The Richie Trust was set up as a positive and fitting way to celebrate his life and honour his memory.”

Jump For Richie is the eagerly awaited follow-up to last February’s Swim for Richie where Trust volunteers swam the equivalent of the channel at Horfield Sports Centre in sea themed fancy dress, raising over £3000 for local causes.
